Convers are definately back!
When I was a child, not so long ago I’d like to think, there were certain types of shoes that were extremely popular. One of my favourite types was Converse. The old style, black and white high tops. There was a time when they were worn mainly by athletes but were considered to be pretty fab by the rest of us. You also have to remember that the types of athletic shoes in the 1970s were very limited, unlike today when it’s possible to have entire warehouses dedicated to nothing but. I remember when Converse came back into mainstream popularity. My nephew could not have been more excited and ran out to buy them as soon as they arrived at a local store. As for me, I’ll shop online, thank you.
In my parents’ day, Vans were quite popular. It was nice to have a casual shoe to slip on for informal events. I know many people that still wear them at home. They are incredibly comfortable and now days it is common to wear such things out and about.
As I am sure you know, I am obsessed with shoes. What woman isn’t? The thing I am not obsessed with is going into crowded shopping centres. Because of that I was particularly excited to find Schuh online. I love their slogan – “From Platform to Plimsoll.” I think it says it all. I love the lime green and black shoes and also adore the junior/infant shoes. Maybe I need to start my Christmas shopping early this year.
