…my family is old fashion and believe that a female shouldnt live on her own, its either with her parents or with her husband. I’m a little scared and nervous. How safe is it to live in aparments? My friend said that i should buy some mens old work boots and put mud on them, just set them out side my door that way people think that there is a man living with me. lol i know thats kind of silly but what precausions should i take or im i just being paranoid? any advise would help.
Here is a great idea: have your brother (if you have one), a male cousin or a male friend record his voice on your answering machine. That way, people calling won’t know if you live alone.
I agree that the boot idea is cool.
Also, don’t feel bad about your parent’s views. You are old enough to make your own choices and you will find that you will learn a lot while living on your own, such as how to budget your time and money, etc. There are things about your behavior, habits and customs that you may change, but you won’t change totally. You will take what you learned from them, and start on your own path implementing the things you feel are a benefit to YOUR life. Don’t feel guilty that you are not a carbon copy of your parents and how they live their life.
