Can I Wear My Wedding Shoes Before the Wedding?

My wedding isn’t until October, but I just bought a great pair of Christian Louboutin’s for the big day! Is it okay to lightly wear them before the wedding to something like our engagement pictures or rehearsal dinner or should I wait to wear them for the first time the day of the wedding? They are a glittered pair, so I’m not too worried about them getting that dirty. I figured they wouldn’t be seen much at the actual wedding, but what’s typical?

  1. Halo Mom says:

    Do not wear them out

Wear them in your house a few hours a day
You will build it up, to the amount of the hours of your wedding

You should break them in the house, walking around
You could go out side for a few times

You should not wear them out of the house, you do not want anything to happened to them

you ‘d better not.for it is unconventional

You need to break them in before the wedding so yes!!! Just don’t get them dirty and it will all be ok.

Of course it is. No one will be looking at your feet anyway.

  5. Doodlestuff says:

Yes, in fact, you do want to wear them in a bit in advance. Otherwise, your feet will be killing you before the dancing even starts.

Of course, you need to break them in.

You most likely need to break them in, so I would say yeah you can wear them a couple of times before. I plan on doing this to my shoes, i would rather them be broken in and not cause pain then wear them for the first time on the big day and have blisters :)

I recommend wearing them at least a few times to break them in – don’t wear brand-new heels on your wedding day, they will be so uncomfortable!

As a seamstress who loves bridal fashions and designs wedding gowns, I will share with you the advise I give all of my brides:

Put on a very thick pair of socks and wear your shoes around the house as much as possible. This will be sure to stretch the shoes to the shape of your foot. Do not worry about stretching the shoes out too much because that cannot happen. You see, after standing on your feet for several hours on your wedding day, and you will be on your feet all day long, your feet will begin to swell. The stretched shoes will not pinch your feet and cause you discomfort if you take my advise.
